Treated like family, from booking to goodbye.
- What you see is what you get. Pet rules, fees and amenities are confirmed by the host in writing.
- Help when you need it. If something is wrong on arrival, call us and we will work with the host to fix it.

For guests
Travelling to Göteborg with your pet
Göteborg is an easy city to visit with a dog. There is no general leash requirement here, unlike in Stockholm, although dogs must be leashed near schools and playgrounds. Slottsskogen, the Delsjön lakes, Ruddalen and the southern archipelago give you long walks within easy reach of the city.
Before you book
Read the house rules for each stay. Hosts state how many pets they accept, whether large dogs are welcome, whether pets may be left alone in the home and which rooms or furniture are off limits.
Visiting from abroad
Pets travelling into Sweden need to meet Jordbruksverket's entry requirements, which usually include ID marking and rabies vaccination. Check the current rules for your country before you travel.
Guests pay for any damage, extra cleaning or missing items caused by them, their group or their pets. Read the Guest & Host Terms before you book.
The Standard rate is free to cancel up to 7 days before check-in, after which a 50% cancellation fee applies. The Flexible rate costs 10% more and is free to cancel up to 24 hours before check-in.

Become a host
Welcome the guests other hosts turn away
One in three Swedish households lives with a dog or cat, and many of them struggle to find holiday accommodation that accepts animals. Listing on PetNest puts your home in front of travellers who are actively looking for a place where their pet is welcome.
Why pet owners make great guests
Families travelling with pets plan ahead, often stay longer and come back to places that treated their animals well. Because pet-friendly stays are harder to find, your home stands out instead of competing with every other listing in the city.
You set the rules
Decide which pets you accept, how many, whether large dogs are welcome and which areas of the home are off limits. Pets stay at no extra charge on PetNest, so set a nightly price that covers your cleaning.
Before you start hosting, check with your landlord or housing association (bostadsrättsförening), as short-term letting often requires their approval. Rental income may be taxable; see Skatteverket for current rules.

Frequently asked questions
For guests
Does PetNest charge guests a booking fee?
No. Guests pay the host's price and nothing more: no pet fee and no service fee.
Which pets can I bring?
Each stay lists the pets it accepts: dogs, two dogs, large dogs or cats. Tell the host about every pet when you book. Bringing more or other pets than booked breaks the house rules.
Is there a pet fee?
No. Pets stay free on PetNest. Extra cleaning can be charged after checkout if the home needs more than normal cleaning.
What happens if I cancel?
On the Standard rate, cancellation is free up to 7 days before check-in. After that, a fee of 50% of the booking total applies. On the Flexible rate (10% higher price), cancellation is free up to 24 hours before check-in. See section 7 of the Guest & Host Terms.
Who pays if something gets damaged?
The guest who booked is responsible for damage caused by themselves, their group or their pets, and pays for repairs, replacement and extra cleaning. We recommend checking that your insurance covers damage away from home.
When and how do I pay?
You pay the full amount once the host has confirmed your booking. You never pay before the host says yes.
Can I leave my pet alone in the home?
Only if the house rules for that stay allow it. Many hosts allow short periods for calm, crate-trained dogs.
I am visiting from abroad. What do I need for my pet?
Pets entering Sweden must meet Jordbruksverket's entry requirements, which usually include ID marking and rabies vaccination. Check the current rules for your country before travelling.
For hosts
What does it cost to list my home?
Listing is free. PetNest charges a 5% host fee on each confirmed booking, and guests pay no service fee.
Do you only list homes in Göteborg?
No. We list pet-friendly homes in Göteborg, the archipelago and along the west coast, from Bohuslän to Halland.
Am I allowed to rent out my home short-term?
If you rent your home or live in a bostadsrätt, you usually need approval from your landlord or housing association first. Rental income may be taxable; check Skatteverket's current rules.
What if a guest's pet damages my home?
Report the damage to PetNest within 72 hours of checkout with photos and receipts or a quote. We forward the claim to the guest, who is responsible for paying it within 14 days.
Can I choose which pets I accept?
Yes. You decide which pets, how many, whether large dogs are welcome and which rooms or furniture are off limits.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are sent after the guest has checked in.
Email PetNestrentals@gmail.com or call 076-060 14 24. We are here every day 08:00–20:00.

Guest & Host Terms
These terms apply to every booking made through PetNest. By sending a booking request you confirm that you have read and accept them.
1. PetNest's role
PetNest is a booking platform that connects guests with hosts. PetNest does not own, rent out, manage or inspect homes during a stay, and is not a party to the rental agreement between guest and host. PetNest is not responsible for damage, loss, injury or disputes that arise during a stay, to the extent permitted by law.
2. The guest is responsible for damage
The guest who makes the booking is fully responsible for any damage, loss or extra costs caused during the stay by:
- the guest themselves,
- anyone else in the booking group or invited into the home,
- every pet brought to the stay, whether or not it was listed in the booking.
This includes, for example, scratched floors and doors, chewed furniture, stained textiles, broken items, damage to gardens and fences, and pest treatment if needed. The guest pays the full cost of repair or replacement.
3. Cleaning and other charges
Normal cleaning is included in the nightly price. The host may charge the guest after checkout for:
- Extra cleaning, for example pet hair beyond normal levels, mud, urine, vomit or waste indoors or in the garden.
- Odour treatment and professional textile cleaning.
- Repairs or replacement of damaged or missing items.
- Lost income if the home cannot be rented out because of damage.
- Breaking house rules, such as bringing more or other pets than booked, or leaving pets alone where this is not allowed.
4. Reporting damage and payment
The host reports damage or extra cleaning to PetNest within 72 hours of checkout, with photos and receipts or a quote. PetNest forwards the claim to the guest. The guest pays the amount within 14 days. Where a deposit has been taken, it may be used towards the cost, and the guest pays any amount above the deposit. Unpaid claims may be passed to debt collection.
5. Guest obligations
- Give correct information about the number of guests and every pet, including breed and size.
- Keep pets under control and follow the host's house rules and local rules, such as leashing near schools and playgrounds.
- Have valid insurance. We recommend checking that your home or travel insurance covers damage caused by you and your pets away from home.
- Report any accident or damage to the host straight away.
6. Host obligations
- Describe the home, its pet rules and its condition accurately, with photos taken before each stay.
- Have the right to let the home, including approval from a landlord or housing association where required.
- Hold home insurance suitable for short-term letting.
7. Cancellation and changes
When booking, the guest chooses one of two rates. The rate chosen applies to the whole booking.
- Standard rate: free cancellation up to 7 days (168 hours) before check-in, 15:00 local time. If the guest cancels within 7 days of check-in, a cancellation fee of 50% of the booking total is charged and the rest is refunded.
- Flexible rate: the nightly price is 10% higher. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before check-in. If the guest cancels within 24 hours, the price of the first night is charged.
- No-shows and early departure: no refund is given on either rate.
- Changes of dates count as a cancellation and a new booking, unless the host agrees otherwise.
- If the host cancels, the guest receives a full refund, and PetNest will help the guest find another stay where possible.
Refunds are paid to the original payment method within 14 days. Cancel by email to PetNestrentals@gmail.com or by phone on 076-060 14 24. Swedish consumer rules on the right of withdrawal (ångerrätt) do not apply to accommodation booked for a specific date.
8. Payment
The guest pays the full booking amount when the host confirms the booking. PetNest pays the host after the guest has checked in. Prices are in Swedish kronor (SEK) and include VAT where applicable.
9. Applicable law
For questions or complaints, contact PetNestrentals@gmail.com first. These terms are governed by Swedish law. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumers have under mandatory Swedish or EU law. Disputes may be referred to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) or a Swedish court.
